As the oldest retailer in Hatton Garden, Holts Gems has been a staple part of London’s Jewellery Quarter for decades. Established in 1948 they have been a family run business for over 70 years creating unique gemstone jewellery.
Holts were in need of a website that better showcased their luxury collection and reflected the rich heritage of the shop; ultimately unifying their brand image through a frontend redesign. They also needed an eCommerce platform that could be used across various devices and provide a flexible, scalable solution for their growing online presence.
The end result is a content rich site that provides a fully-responsive online customer experience from desktop, tablet and mobile. The design is elegant and minimalist to better represent the brand and the main site bar has drop down categories filtered accordingly to ensure easy navigation. As with every bluCommerce site, there is a powerful search bar and clearly defined payment option in checkout to help simplify the customer’s journey and increase overall conversion rates.
Bespoke sections were added on the site including a timeline feature detailing the Holts’ family heritage. We’ve also ensured a seamless integration with the third party payment provider Paypal. Holts also took full advantage of our own, in-house designed pick, pack and dispatch system.
The vision of the final site was bought to life with a clean yet striking design, great functionality and an elegant user experience that complements their jewellery perfectly.
