Their site has grown into one of the UK's leading online supplement retailers and boasts over 50 different brands and thousands of products.
Project Details
The Supplement Store has certainly succeeded in becoming one of the fastest growing websites in this competitive sector. Stocking nearly every sports supplement brand, the website attracts large numbers of visitors and many repeat customers!
We originally designed their site in 2005, but late 2007 brought on a new opportunity to rework both it's design and core functionality.
The site was designed with flexibility in mind. New products and new navigation options (such as browsing by brand or product type) had to be constantly updated so this had to be taken into account. Amongst the ecommerce features standard of our sites, the following were also integrated:
- Loyalty Points Scheme - customers collect points for each of their purchases at the store, based on order value, redeemable on future purchases encouraging repeat orders.
- Customer account enhancements - users can keep track of all their orders, update their details, as well as get product recommendations based on their previous purchases and what they've viewed on the website.
- Advanced buying options - We set up the ability to specify special quantity discounts, product groupings to save money, and product upselling.
- Product reviews - Users can leave full reviews and star ratings for individual products, and the results are displayed in a bar-chart graph form.
- Article and advice area - with a full CMS developed, the site can be regularly updated with new articles and tips for visitors to view and comment upon
