Behind the name

We're not just another faceless agency

Founded in 2005 by Chris Mattingly and Maxwell Lamb, we've grown to become a major player in the eCommerce sector with a proven track record of producing excellent sites which help businesses grow.

Starting in a ramshackle barn, we now operate from a Georgian townhouse in the heart of Bath, with a team of enthusiastic and inspired staff, every one of whom we'd trust with our lives, and your business.

After a year of working with third party eCommerce solutions, it became clear to us that there did not exist a single eCommerce solution which was not only great looking and easy to manage, but also able to cope with large order volumes and high traffic, without spending over £100,000. From this, bluCommerce, our eCommerce platform, was born.

We have leveraged our extensive knowedge web technologies and retail business practices to develop a slew of eCommerce solutions that provide feature-rich, user-friendly and unique interfaces and solutions to new and old problems. With over 60 clients world-wide comprising many well established brand names and rapidly growing start-ups, we have invested tens of thousands of development hours into code which is tested, extended, deployed and maintained in order to produce truly scalable, stable and affordable eCommerce solutions.

In addition to rich user experiences, we also specialise in integration with retail systems and aim to help you improve business performance. We regularly implement integrations with warehousing systems, order-flow systems, mailing list management software and other such essential elements of the eCommerce ecosystem using a wide variety of technologies.

In spite of our technical prowess, we still retain a strong ethos of design and usability, and believe that a platform should not only be functional, it should be beautiful, as a beautiful platform is a usable platform, and a usable platform pays dividends.

In addition to online commerce we have developed solutions for OTAs (Online Travel Agents), social networking sites, rich content information portals and B2B applications, however maintain a particular focus in the retail eCommerce sector.
