Fresh from a rebrand, Sahara had ambitious growth plans but felt limited by the development costs and instability of their existing Magento 1 website. In migrating to blueCommerce, Sahara wanted a fast, secure and stable platform that could easily expand and adapt with their business. Prioritising the user journey, to reflect the high-quality offline customer experience, was also key.
Sahara wanted to convey their beautiful and timeless brand aesthetic on the new site, from the luxurious fabrics used through to the flattering designs. We introduced a clean, contemporary magazine-like feel with impactful lifestyle image blocks and video to showcase products and to enhance the brand experience. To add a sense of luxury, we carefully integrated white space and typography for an easy, calm flow to the site which reflects the brand itself.
We worked closely with Sahara to develop a site structure that replicated the in-store experience, where customers naturally browse a wide variety of products and collections during their visit. In addition, where customers would ask an in-store stylist for a particular product or collection, on the new site we used bluCommerce’s sophisticated search function to provide this service. These features, combined with clear navigation and easy checkout, make for a high-converting site.
Sahara boutiques have experienced, approachable stylists on hand to offer purchasing advice without pressure to buy and, most importantly, to help customers have fun and rediscover the joy of shopping. We translated this experience online with a “style with” feature on product pages. This cross-selling tool provides guidance on items that work well with the selected product, even suggesting items the user may not have previously considered or seen.
With their secure and stable bluCommerce site, Sahara can confidently launch new campaigns knowing it will handle high volumes with ease. Their online shopping experience now matches the luxurious, personal service customers enjoy in-store. This seamless multi-channel set-up sets Sahara in good stead to achieve ambitious growth plans.
