We’ve just completed an impeccably s[tile]ish new website: Porcelain Superstore has launched on Shopify Plus!
Known for its passion for porcelain, the family-run brand offers unique, stylish and high-quality porcelain tiles at unmatched prices. Porcelain Superstore’s carefully curated collection of tiles are mostly from the Emilio Romagna region of Italy. By purchasing directly from the factories, the brand is able to deliver exceptional value for money while also offering a huge product range.
As an eCommerce business from the get-go, the brand already had fantastic product photography and information as well as free samples. However, for their new website, they were looking to raise the bar even higher.
In moving from Magento to Shopify Plus, the Porcelain Superstore team wanted their new site to have a fresh, cohesive design that felt easy and fast on mobile. They also wanted to increase conversions for free tile samples. To deliver on all of this, blubolt designed a bespoke Shopify theme showcasing the lifestyle photography and extensive product range. The team paid particular attention to the product detail pages. As a result, the abundance of product data is organised within user-friendly drop-down sections to ensure a sleek, sophisticated look.
“Customers get four free samples which is a fantastic selling point. So we also focused on adding a “free sample” CTA button on both the product detail and product landing pages,” says blubolt designer Harry Parkin. “Then we added pop-ups to advise customers how many of the free samples they had added to their cart.”
The average lifespan of a bathroom or kitchen is 10 years. Consequently, customers naturally consider their online tile purchases carefully. “To give shoppers confidence in their tile choices, we selected a range of tech partners to enhance the user experience,” says blubolt developer Pete Heyes. “For example, an integration with Yotpo provides customer reviews and user-generated content with shop by Instagram functionality. We also set up colour swatch filters on the PLP pages with CloudSearch, email marketing with Klaviyo, and stylish wishlist functionality with Smart Wishlist.”
In addition, the team delivered superior solutions with the checkout experience and delivery options. “The new shopping cart layout clearly shows tile samples versus regular boxes of tiles. This ensures Porcelain Superstore maximises the number of samples customers get,” says Richard Ayles, Head of Development at blubolt. “Then, using Shipper Hq and developing a Brightpearl app in the background, we’ve ensured the earliest possible delivery date is provided to the customer and passed through to Brightpearl, in addition to the standard.”
