Our onboarding process walks you through how to set up the Delivery Date app, how to configure your rules, and how to set up shipping methods, all from within the Shopify admin you're used to.

We'll enable the widget on your Shopify store.

The app works by showing a special button on the product page and cart page that the customers click to choose their preferred delivery date. We'll make sure it's perfectly on-brand.

Customers can search and select a date.

The app shows a special 'widget' on your website that is very intuitive for your customers to use. They simply enter their postcode, choose a date, and click Save.

Their chosen delivery date is then saved.

Once a customer places an order, their chosen delivery date is saved and can be sent to your back-office system for processing (e.g. your ERP, CRM, or WMS system).

Fulfilment options are updated if customers change address mid-order.

Should your customer change fulfilment locations during the ordering process, the app will update the available delivery dates and methods based on the new location. This avoids customers inadvertently circumventing the logic by changing delivery details on the checkout page.

Every product can be available or restricted by location.

You can apply rules to each product so they can be made available or restricted by location on the PDP page and the cart. Upon checkout, customers will then see all applicable delivery methods and prices. These options are based on the cart, selected delivery date, and shipping address.

Every product can have production limits within specific timeframes.

You can set production limits on both individual products and on the number of orders that can be fulfilled on a daily basis. The app then correlates rule sets to offer customers available delivery dates based on the items in their cart and their location/region.

Every order will come through with a suitable delivery date.

All your orders will come through with the right shipping method, taking into account the delivery location and selected delivery date (e.g. next day or standard delivery).

Is the app easy to install on Shopify?

As this is a custom app, exclusive to blubolt clients, it is installed as part of a Shopify build with blubolt or our growth & optimisation programme, called bluprint for success.

How much does this custom app cost?

If you’re looking to build a new Shopify Plus site, or are in need of ongoing support, get in touch to discuss your needs. After getting some details on your project, we’ll happily provide upfront costs.

Does this just work on Shopify or with other eCommerce platforms?

This custom app is designed for Shopify only.

How many different rules can I set up for products, delivery types and production limits?

As many as you like! There are no limits to the number of rules you can create.

What if I need to change the rules I set up?

No problem, you can easily make changes yourself. As part of the seamless setup with blubolt, we’ll show you how to do this and will be on-hand for ongoing support should you have further queries.

Does the app take into account delivery when I have customers in different time zones?

Yes, the app provides available delivery dates to customers based on the items in their cart and their location/region. Cleverly, this also incorporates the customer’s timezone in order to prevent customers in other timezones from inadvertently circumventing delivery deadlines.

What if the customer changes the delivery address partway through the buying process?

The app checks available delivery dates for the user’s postcode on the product detail page (PDP) and the cart. Once at the checkout, the app then looks at the products in the cart, the selected delivery date, and the shipping address to provide all applicable delivery methods and prices. As a result, if the customer changes their delivery location, the list of available methods will alter based on the customer’s new location. This avoids customers inadvertently circumventing the logic by changing delivery details on the checkout page.
